How to create a incremental or differential backup task?


Question: I need to create a weekly full backup and a daily incremental ( or differential ) backup, what should I do?

Answer: The software can make incremental backup and differential backup, but you have to enable the binary logs.

Please perform the following steps to create a task for weekly full backup and daily incremental ( or differential ) backup:

Step 1: Create a Back up MySQL databases to the SQL files task or Back up MySQL databases to the other server task.

Step 2: Select Incremantal Backup ( or Differential Backup ) and click Settings on Step 3.

Step 3: Select the option - Make a full backup every 7 Incremental/Differential backups and then click OK.

Step 4: Select the option Automatically run the task on schedule -> Daily  and click Settings... on Step 7 ( or Step 6 of the Back up MySQL databases to the other server task ).

Step 5: Choose the option - Run the task every 1 day(s).

Step 6: Follow the Task Wizard to finish the task creation.

That's all. The task will make a weekly full backup and a daily incremental ( or differential ) backup.
